Nearly 1,250 dead in Yemen fighting: WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that nearly 1,250 people have died in just over a month of fighting in Yemen.

According to News24.com, the Yemen conflict has affected 7.5 million people, said the WHO.

The UN health agency the humanitarian situation in the country as deteriorating especially in Taez where there has been heavy violence.

According to the latest WHO toll, Saudi-led coalition airstrikes killed 1,244 and left 5,044 injured between March 19 and April 27.

Health facilities in Yemen provided the statistics to the WHO but the real number is higher since many people have been unable to get to hospitals.
