English golf ace Lee Westwood has said that he is confident of winning his first Major today and become free of his tag as golf's 'Nearly Man', saying that he is aware of what it takes to win, ahead of the Open Championship final at Muirfield.

Westwood, who is the only player to finish in the top three of all four Majors without winning any, may see a change in his luck and take home the Claret Jug if he manages to stay calm and focused for one more round at the 142nd Open Championship, the Mirror reports.

As he prepares or a final day that could define his career with a two-shot lead, Westwood however said that he believes he has a good chance of winning given that he knows what is needed to achieve success, adding that he needed to believe in himself and go out with composure as Sunday final round has only 18 holes.

With a spot on putting, Westwood finished at the top of the leaderboard at Muirfield after an interesting duel with World No.1 Tiger Woods, and the report said that he will bid to finally land the Major he has always sought, along with a winning cheque of 945,000 pounds and the bonus of two million pounds from sponsors.

Stating that he is happy that he managed to retain his calm during the duel with the 14-time Major winner, Westwood also said that he had a sharp short game and made the putts when he needed to, adding that his bunker shot to save par on the sixth and the approach to the 14th were two of his best shots.

Westwood quipped that he had not felt quite as comfortable while being in the top position in the past as he did on Saturday, adding that it may be because he is 40 years old and going on a decline.
