Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi will chair the meeting of North-east coordination committee on Thursday where in issues will be taken up which are common to the states of the North-east.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and also the convenor of the NECC told ANI, "In the meeting, we will discuss the issues which are common in nature and exclusive to the states of North-east."
Sangma also asserted that the overall connect of the Congress with the North-eastern people is stronger than the rest of the country.
In November 2016, the Congress reconstituted its North-east Coordination Committee, which is currently headed by Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma.
Among others who are a part of the committee are former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki and former Manipur chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
