A parliamentary meeting which was scheduled to hold a discussion over an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice Shusila Karki was differed on Thursday as the opposition obstructed deliberations.
The Opposition lawmakers, led by the CPN-UML (Communist Party of Nepal- Marxist Leninist), started shouting slogans against the impeachment.
As House Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar informed the MPs' about the commencement of meeting, many opposition MPs started slogannering.
Even as Speaker Magar called for the tabling of the impeachment motion, the opposition blocked the way ofNepali Congress MP and Mininister Bahadur Bishwokarma, the proposer of the impeachment motion.
Speaker Magar was forced to adjourn proceedings till Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Nepal has directed the government not to go ahead with the process of impeachment against Chief Justice Karki, directing her to resume her responsibilites.
The interim ruling was passed by Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana.
The impeachment motion was registered last Sunday by the ruling Nepali Congress and Maoist Center.
Karki, has been charged with giving verdicts and interfering in the executive's decisions.
