Nepal's Parliament will meet on Friday afternoon to discuss the political crisis arising out of the lack of consensus shown by political parties to clear the way for acceptance of a new Constitution.

On Thursday, the Constituent Assembly failed to meet its deadline to deliver a new Constitution to the nation. The deadline to draft a new Constitution expired last night.

The Parliament session in Kathmandu ended in chaotic scenes.

Constituent Assembly Chairman Subhash Nembang, adjourned Parliament at 11.45 p.m. on Thursday, after a two-and-half hour long obstruction by opposition parties.

Before announcing adjournment of the session, Nembang said he wished to begin the process of drafting the Constitution and sought the cooperation of all parties to promulgate the new Constitution.
