Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala said here Friday that he would submit his resignation to President Ram Baran Yadav shortly.

Koirala, a Nepali Congress leader, was elected as the Prime Minister of Nepal on February 10, 2014.

President Yadav on September 20 had announced the adoption of a new secular and democratic Constitution, which marked Nepal's transformation from a Hindu monarchy to a secular democracy.

However there has been dissent among Madhesis on the Constitution, which has resulted in disturbances in southern Nepal which has resulted in blockage of goods from India.
