Nepal's senior Communist leader Sahana Pradhan passes away

Sahana Pradhan, a senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) and a prominent crusader of Nepali Communist Movement, has passed away. He was 86.

Nepalnews.com reports that Pradhan, who was under treatment for a long time, passed away on Monday night from neurological complications.

A freedom fighter, minister in three governments and once a Deputy Prime Minister, Sahana Pradhan was hospitalised after a brain stroke on June 6.

She breathed her last at 11.05 p.m. at Vayodha Hospital in Balkhu.

She was the wife of late Communist leader Pushpa Lal.

Her body has been placed at the UML Central Party headquarters in Balkhu for condolences after which her funeral will be conducted.
