Netflix has acquired the digital rights of the upcoming Chinese action film 'Animal World'.
Hollywood star, Michael Douglas will be seen playing the role of a villain in the action flick.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix acquired the rights to the title for territories outside of China.
Directed by Han Yan and produced by Beijing-based studio Enlight Pictures, the movie stars Li Yifeng (Mr. Six) an imaginative teenager who is lured into a dangerous game of wits controlled by the villain (Douglas).
This movie is adapted from a hit Japanese manga (Comic) - 'Ultimate Survivor Kaiji'.

The film which has already been premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival will be released on June 29.
Earlier this year, the streaming giant acquired global rights to blockbuster romantic drama 'Us and Them', and had also pre-bought all non-China rights for the animated film 'Over the Moon', further reported the Hollywood Reporter.
Netflix scooped up several Chinese TV dramas which include detective series 'Day and Night' and psychological thriller 'Chosen'.
