A new dating app, dubbed anti-Tinder, is trying to go beyond the beauty of the face by covering their users' profile pictures and is instead encouraging them to find partners on the basis of personalities.

LoveFlutter finds matches on the basis of 140-character blurbs, which the company calls #QuirkyFact, before the profile pictures are revealed. It also requires users to take a "QI" or "Quirky Interesting" Test before creating an account, reported ABC News.

The company also hosts special speed-dating events where participants wear paper bags over their heads.

LoveFlutter co-founder David Standen said that the idea behind the concept is to allow people to find love on the basis of personality instead of looks. Paper bag is such a plain thing that it levels the playing field, he said.

The company says its motto is #SayNoToShallow and encourages its paper bag speed daters to display their personalities and thoughts about themselves on their paper bags by using doodles and written messages.

However, not many people mingled with each other once the paper bags came off at a recent speed-dating event in New York, the report said.

But LoveFlutter founders are hopeful that it will happen in time. Co-founder Daigo Smith said that they are yet to see the first paper bag marriage and added that hopefully, it would come soon.

The app is free but is currently available only on iOS devices and web. An Android app is coming soon, the company's website said.
