A new lawsuit has been filed against Uber in the US District Court in San Francisco for allegedly neglecting the safety of its female customers.
According to News24, the suit claims that Uber aims its marketing at young women who have been drinking, but does not conduct adequate background checks on its drivers.
The complaint said that Uber has not shared with riders that making the choice to hail a ride after drinking puts the riders in danger from the ride-sharing company's drivers itself.
The lawsuit also said that the company's misleading statement about women's safety led to the sexual assault of the two women listed in the complaint.
