A psychologist has collaborated with app developers YUZA to create a new mobile application, dubbed 'Dream

University of Hertfordshire's Richard Wiseman spent 2 years making the app, which has been downloaded over 500,000 times, that lets users choose different 'soundscapes' that evoke pleasant scenarios like lying on the beach or taking a woodland stroll, the New York Daily News reported.

The app also lets users record their dreams after it's over in the built-in diary.

While speaking about the importance of good dreams, Wiseman said that having positive dreams helps people wake up in a good mood and boosts their productivity.

He added that his team has discovered a way of giving people sweet dreams that could also form the basis for a new type of therapy to help those suffering from certain psychological problems, such as depression.
