A new explosive book has claimed that Princess Diana had sent chilling death threats to Camilla Parker-Bowles.

The deceased mother of Princes William and Harry reportedly warned the now Duchess of Cornwall that she had sent someone to kill her when she was alone in her country house, and also made threatening telephone calls from her in the dead of the night, the Daily Star reported.

According to the new book on Prince Harry by royal biographer Penny Junor, Diana had "terrifying emotional outbursts" as her marriage with Prince Charles was on the rocks.

The controversial claims reveal that she sent "anonymous, unnerving and sometimes poisonous messages to a range of people, including her Private Secretary Patrick Jephson and Tiggy Legge-Bourke, who'd been hired by Prince Charles to look after the boys following the separation".

The book also claims that despite Diana's insecurities, a campaign to discredit her did not exist and Charles had given specific instructions to his staff to say and do nothing to reflect badly upon her.
