New Year's celebrations faced disruptions due to terror alerts

Amidst the highest security alert, world have welcomed the year 2016 but there were disruptions in the happiness of the people.

The train stations in Germany evacuated over a terror threat while fireworks were canceled in Paris and Brussels and huge fires ripped through a Dubai hotel.

On the basis of concrete information, about the 'suicide attacks' by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in Germany, police shut down two main train stations in the city of Munich on New Year's Eve, reports Al Jazeera.

Terror fears also loomed large, with firework displays canceled in Brussels and Paris.

In Dubai, a vast blaze ripped through a luxury 63-story hotel, the Address Downtown, close to the world's tallest tower where people had gathered to ring in the New Year.
