Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has reportedly been charged with 'improper conduct' by the Football Association (FA) for head-butting Hull player David Meyler in Premier League match, although he will not face police action over his actions.

Pardew was sent to the stands by the match referee after clashing with Meyler when the player collided with him while chasing a ball into touch during Newcastle's 4-1 Premier League victory at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

According to Metro.co.uk, although Pardew apologised after the game and was later fined 100,000 pounds and reprimanded by his club, however, a FA statement said that Pardew has been charged in relation to the incident with Meyler that amounted to improper conduct.

The statement further said that due to the serious violent and/or aggressive nature of the reported behaviour this case has been designated as non-standard.

However, the local police said that they have not received any complaint from Meyler or Hull City and are happy to let the FA deal with the matter.
