Despite the release of Varun Dhawan's latest Bollywood flick 'Judwaa 2', Rajkummar Rao's 'Newton' still "remains strong" in its second week, reported Trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The Amit V Masurkar-directed film has managed to earn Rs. 16.15 crore at the box office so far, according to Adarsh.
"#Newton remains STRONG, despite #Judwaa2 wave... [Week 2] Fri 91 lakhs, Sat 1.66 cr, Sun 1.75 cr. Total: ? 16.15 cr. India biz," tweeted Taran.
'Newton' opened to positive reviews on September 22. The film has been selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards.
According to Box Office India, Rao's 'Newton' has left behind Sanjay Dutt's 'Bhoomi' and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Haseena Parkar,' which released on the same day.
