The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday allowed the request of former Delhi minister and AAP leader Somnath Bharti to be heard for his controversial midnight raid at Khirki Extension in the national capital early this year.
A release by the Commission said that it had allowed the request of Bharti to be heard in the matter related to human rights violation of some African women nationals in Khirki Extension area on the intervening night of January 15 and 16.
Fixing the date of hearing on January 13 of next year, the Commission also directed the Delhi Government to defer payment of monetary relief to victims, recommended by it on September 29, for a period of two months.
