Former Chelsea and Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka has been appointed as player-manager of Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Mumbai City.
The 36-year-old Frenchman, who scored two goals in seven league games in his first season at Mumbai, has also been named as the club's marquee player.
Anelka said that they are all very excited to start the new season, adding that he is personally very eager to take on this new role for the club and put a strong competitive team on the pitch, the BBC reported.
Mumbai finished seventh out of eight teams in their inaugral Indian Super League's 2014 campaign.
