Nigerian authorities have reportedly contacted the Boko Haram, indirectly, in an attempt to negotiate the release of more than 250 abducted Nigerian girls.
Meanwhile, the governor of Nigeria's Borno state, Kashim Shettima, said that he has information on the whereabouts of about 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist group Boko Haram.
Shettima said that he has asked the Nigerian military to verify reports of the sightings of the abducted girls.
He also said that he did not think that the girls had been taken across the border to Chad or Cameroon.
Meanwhile, Nigeria's neighbours - Chad, Cameroon and Niger are reportedly providing satellite imagery to locate the girls.
French president Francois Hollande had earlier said that he suggested with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, a meeting of Nigeria's neighbouring countries, adding that if the countries agreed, the meeting would take place next Saturday.
