Nine Maoists were arrested in Bihar's East Champaran District by a joint team of the Special Task Police (STF) and the state police.
Amongst the nine arrested on Thursday, two were hardcore red rebels, and have been identified as Zaheer Madari and Nanhat Paswan.
Madari is wanted in over 25 cases of loot, murder and Naxal violence in Champaran District and carried a bounty of Rs. 50,000.
Paswan is wanted in nine cases of Naxal violence in the same district.
The other arrested Maoists have been identified as Vidya Mahto, Lakhindra Paswan, Arun Kumar Thakur, Lalita Prasad, Muslim alias Islam, Ramekbal Bhagat and Rambharosh Das.
The joint team has reportedly seized one AK-56 with three magazines, a 9 mm pistol, one country-made pistol, 98 ammunitions, three mobile phones, two motorcycles and Naxal literature, after raiding their hideout in Goregaon village.
