Local officials on Monday said that at least nine Taliban insurgents were killed in a clash with security forces in Afghanistan's western Badghis province.
The militants were killed yesterday.
Badghis Police Chief, Abdul Raouf Taj said the clash started in Jawand district in the province after the insurgents attacked a police outpost in the area.
"The battle continued for nearly 10 hours and all the militants fled the area after a strong response by police force members," Tolo News quoted Taj as saying.
