Taking potshots at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over reports that eight children have died in Chhapra allegedly as a result of food-poisoning from the free mid-day meal provided by the government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh on Tuesday said that the former has become even more dangerous than Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Singh said it is extremely unfortunate that children are dead and sick after eating the midday meal in Chhapra.

"But this unfortunate incident took place only because Nitish Kumar has the burden of 18 ministries on his head and is least concerned about the people of the state. Nitish Kumar is right now focusing on how his government survives. Can he bring back those kids who have lost their lives?" asked Singh.

"He has become even more dangerous than Lalu, such incidents did not take place during Lalu's regime," he added, while asserting that the Bihar Chief Minister should take moral responsibility for this untoward incident.

Eight students have died and 50 others admitted to a hospital after consuming mid-day meal at a government school in Marhaura in Chhapra.

All children are reportedly between 8 and 12 years. The condition of three other students is stated to be serious.
