Patna, Oct. 28 (ANI): BJP Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has described him as Bihar ka Gaurav (pride of Bihar),and pointedly emphasized and reminded the present party leadership and cadre that he had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) when it had only two seats.
"Nitish Ji has called me Bihar ka Gaurav 'pride of Bihar'. I was the first film personality to join the BJP when the party had just two seats. I wonder why this sacrifice is being done for the vested interests of a few leaders. Won't the Bharatiya Janata Party have to pay the price for it? And, this is happening today," Sinha told ANI in an exclusive interview.
The actor-politician, however showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as dynamic, dashing and charming.
"If the BJP enjoys a wave, then it's well and good. Even today, I want the BJP to win so that it can give Bihar a new direction," he added.
Earlier, Sinha said that it has never been his intention to embarrass his party, but added that he has had misunderstandings with the leadership of the BJP's state unit.
