Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) Chairman P.D. Sudhakar on Thursday said there will be no change in power tariff in the national capital except for group housing societies.
"The basic thing is there is no change in power tariff, except in one category which is the group housing. There is a category of cooperative housing societies, which are given single point connection at high tension and their tariff was separate. There was some discrepancies in the tariff and the members were not given the benefit which other domestic consumer gets," Sudhakar said while addressing a press conference here.
"They were also not getting subsidies due to non-applicability of the slabs. So, we have solved that discrepancies. Now, all the members of the housing society are like any other domestic consumers and same slabs apply to them," he added.
Sudhakar also clarified that there will be no change in the power purchase adjustment cost.
Delhi Government also clarified, earlier in the day that there will be no hike in the electricity bill, adding that it may further reduce the bill after the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report is out.
