Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said that by deciding to send a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the Pathankot terror attack, Pakistan has for the first time initiated action after India handed over evidences to them.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rijiju however said that Islamabad has not yet given the details about the size of the team.

"Pakistan decided to send a team to Pathankot, but they haven't yet given details such as date or size of team. We're waiting for the details," he said.

India will be raising Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar's detention issue with the Pakistan investigation team which will be visiting here in connections with the Pathankot terror attack.

We have carefully noted the comments made (by Aziz) on Maulana Masood Azhar. I think it will be a subject of discussion once the SIT visits India," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup told ANI.

He further said that India was awaiting a firm proposal from Pakistan on 'dates and composition' of the Special Investigation Team and only after that security agencies will decide what all places will be visited by the team.

During a TV interview recently, Aziz had said Masood Azhar and a few other JeM operatives, have been kept under protective custody and that some of the terror outfit's premises have also been sealed.

The Foreign Secretary level talks between the two nations scheduled for January 15 were postponed on January 2, after the Indian airbase in Pathankot near Pakistan's border was stormed by terrorists, killing seven Indian security personnel.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are expected to meet in the United States this month during the nuclear summit in Washington.
