Defense expert M.M. Khajuria on Friday expressed hope that the meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif would set the tone for a composite dialogue in the right direction, but said the fundamental question still remains that there has been no indication or measures to address the trust deficit.

"But the fundamental question still remains that there has been no indication of any intention or measures to address the trust deficit that exist between the two countries. All these measures look good and they are good, but is there the proper sentiment between the two countries which can push these things forward and whatever is our greed is implemented. It's also good that Nawaz Sharif invited PM Modi," Khajuria said.
"These are routine initiatives by the countries. What used to be seen is how sincerely both countries pursue at least these areas where they have agreement and hopefully if the movement is forward and is achieved with sincere and focused effort perhaps this will be beginning of good relations, improved relations with Pakistan," he added.
Khajuria further said the main take away from this meeting is that they have agreed to slow down the temperature and address certain aspects which tend to their mass affairs.
India and Pakistan today decided to revive the stalled dialogue process and find ways to expedite trial of the Mumbai attack case as Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and his counterpart Nawaz Sharif agreed to cooperate to eliminate terrorism from South Asia.

The two leaders, who met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Ufa, Russia, discussed entire the gamut of issues between both sides.
Foreign Secretaries S Jaishankar and Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, who held a joint press meet after the meeting, said both countries have condemn terrorism in all forms and decide to take steps to deal with the menace.
They said that the meeting between the two Prime Ministers was cordial, adding that both sides have agreed to hold collective responsibility to ensure peace and development and to do so they are prepare to discuss all outstanding issues.
