Marking 40 years of economic liberalisation, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping here on Tuesday said that no one can dictate China's economic development.

Chinese Premier addressed the Communist Party members on the occasion of China's "reform and opening up" policy at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, where the leader promised the people of the country with more economic reforms in the near future, Al Jazeera reported.

Clearly stating that China would neither opt out of its single-party regime nor allow any other country to give orders to China, Xi noted said, "We must, unswervingly, reinforce the development of the state economy while, unswervingly, encouraging, supporting and guiding the development of the non-state economy."

"The great banner of socialism has always been flying high over the Chinese land," Xi said. "The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the most essential feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the greatest advantage of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics," Premier Xi added.

The statement by Xi came as the Asian country, which has become one of the leading economies the world today, is stuck in a trade war with the United States.

Adding to the pressure, Huawei Chief Financial Official Meng Wanzhou was also arrested on December 1 while changing planes at Vancouver International Airport in Canada, following which a diplomatic row started between China and Canada.

However, Meng was released on a bail of 10 million Canadian dollars, which includes seven million Canadian dollars in cash from her husband and the remaining three million Canadian dollars from sureties.
