Amid the alleged ongoing rift within the Samajwadi Party, one of its leaders, Naresh Agarwal, on Thursday said no one should interfere in the internal matters of a family, adding that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had used the word 'bahri log' as he must have felt so.

"An outsider should not interfere in family matters. We are definitely a part of the family, but a family is a family and we should maintain a restriction that we don't interfere in the internal matters of a family. The Chief Minister has said so because he must have felt it. The election will be fought under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav," Agarwal told ANI.

Akhilesh yesterday spoke of interference by outsiders in the party. Referring to his comment, party national General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said, "I will meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, ask him what he meant about bahri log(outsiders)."

He also said that there are some people who take advantage of Mulayam Singh Yadav's "simplicity" adding that "these people don't have party's well being in mind."

Over the past few days, multiple incidents have exposed a rift in the Samajwadi Party.

After losing the state unit chief position to uncle Shivpal Yadav, Akhilesh had removed Shivpal from all key ministerial positions.

Akhilesh also removed Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal who was reportedly close to Shivpal.

When questioned over the growing family rift, Akhilesh had said on Tuesday, "What you are witnessing is a fight in the government, not the family.
