Union Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda has said that he has no plans to review railway fares, following the recent drop in fuel prices.
The Railway Minister also said that any decision in this regard will be taken when the Railways reviews the fuel adjustment component (FAC)-linked revision scheme.
The government had increased rail passenger fares by 14.2 percent and freight rates by 6.5 percent in June, which had led to an outcry by the opposition parties.
The decision had resulted in various protest s across the country demanding the government take back its decision.
