The Janata Dal (United) on Friday downplayed reports of rift in the ruling grand alliance in Bihar over Mohammad Shahabuddin's comments against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that it does not matter what the opposition parties are saying.

JD(U) leder Ajay Alok said that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav had made it clear that there is no problem amid the RJD-JD(U) and his statement is all that matters.

"Let opposition speak, whatever they say nothing matters. Lalu ji is primer and respected leader of the grand alliance, if he has said that there is no problem with our coalition government then that is it, what he says matter, what others say makes no difference," said Alok.

Lalu yesterday said that RJD-JDU alliance in Bihar government is as strong as ever.

Quashing any doubts about political rift amidst Shahabuddin-Nitish row over latter's political right to be Chief Minister, Lalu said any doubts on the issue are only seeded by opposition BJP.
