Nobel Prize-winning author Doris Lessing dies at 94

Doris Lessing, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2007, has died. She was 94.

According to Lessing's longtime agent and friend Jonathan Clowes, the 'The Golden Notebook' author died peacefully at her London home in the early hours of Sunday morning, News.com.au reported.

Lessing, who published her first novel 'The Grass Is Singing' in 1950, authored more than 50 novels ranging from political critiques to science fiction.

She also wrote operas, short stories and two plays.

Lessing is survived by her daughter and two granddaughters.
