Nokia's yet-to-be-announced latest smartphone that was speculated to have Android-like interface is reportedly said to look more like Windows 8 phone.

Recently, images of an 'engineering prototype', codenamed Normandy, were retweeted by @evleaks, and provided a visual proof that the anticipated project of Android-running handset has not been scrapped.

However, latest speculations indicate that Normandy would feature a custom version of Android built directly on top of the existing AOSP code base that other Android devices utilize, TechHive reports.

The images show the 'Live Tiles', a feature familiar to Windows Phones.

The handset is expected to have a 4-inch display, a Qualcomm S4 processor, 4GB of storage, and 512MB of RAM, running on the custom version of Android styled in the Metro interface.

The smartphone could be considered a way of introducing new users to the Windows Phone interface without much of a surprise.
