The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday stated that the letter written by former union minister Jayanthi Natarajan to Congress president Sonia Gandhi has lay bare the role played by Gandhi family in the working of the UPA government.

"We are getting a glimpse into what was really happening in the UPA regime. We get to know the truth of the so-called 'non-interference' of the Gandhi family during the UPA regime. We get to know the truth about the environment and the commitment to environment which was withdrawn, which was shifted. I suppose we will get to know more in the coming days," AAP leader Yogendra Yadav told ANI.

Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) chief general secretary KC Tyagi termed the revelations 'shocking'.

"The disclosure of the former environment minister is shocking. If she has unveiled such practices, then I would like her to make a full expose and reveal everything," he stated.

Earlier in the day, an English daily published a letter by Natarajan to Sonia Gandhi, dated November 2014, in which she had stated that she was quitting the Congress due to 'political interference' and alleged that she received 'specific requests' from party vice president Rahul Gandhi on environmental clearances.
