A large number of food outlets serving the indigenous food from the country's northeastern states have mushroomed in the national capital.

Home to a large number of people from the Northeastern states, New Delhi has become a hotspot for indigenous cuisine from the region.

In South Delhi's Green Park area, among the many popular northeast restaurants is the Rosang Cafe.

Established in January this year by a Mizo couple, the outlet offers authentic cuisine from all eight northeastern states.

Be it Nga thongba - a fish curry from Manipur, Bai-a vegetable stew with herbs from Mizoram or Dohneiihong, a pork dish from Meghalaya, you will get a variety of Northeast food.

"To bring out the beauty of the Northeast it can be the people, food, culture or music so we thought of promoting the entire Northeast so we come out to a place green park where there is no parking problem and where all the people can come easily," said Mary Lalboi, Founder and CEO, Rosang Cafe.

The cafe not only attracts northeastern people settled in the national capital, but is popular among Delhi'ites and other foreign visitors.

The food, ambience and settings of Rosang attract the customers.

" This is the second time I had been here. I really like the food. I like the variety of the dishes which they serve here from the entire Northeast and especially I like fish dishes," said Urmi, a customer.

" it is combination of seven sister's states and I have never tasted other state food so it's very new to me and it's very delicious,' added Riya, another customer.

To give authentic taste of northeast to the people of Delhi, the food is prepared from organic products, herbs and spices procured from Manipur.

" We have people from all parts of the world. Tourist visiting here regularly and they appreciate the kind of food the Rosang is offering apart from them 85 percent here is non-northeastern," said Arupjyoti Gogoi, Marketing Head, Rosang Cafe.
