General Officer Commanding in Chief of Indian Army's Northern Command Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra said on Sunday that there have been no infiltration attempts by militants from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in this side of Kashmir valley so far this year.

"The situation on the Line of Control (LoC) is well under control. There is peace on the Line of Control. We are vigilant. We are aware and we are ready to face all the challenges that are coming in the next few months. No infiltration has taken place. We are prepared, our counter infiltration grid is well in place, the troops are well alert and ready to take on the challenge," said Chachra.

Chachra concluded his two-day trip to Kashmir on Sunday and visited Chinar Corps War Memorial to pay his tribute to the fallen heroes who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

Chachra also mentioned that they are ready to take on any challenge from the militants.

"There is peace and safety in the hinterland and we are ready to prepare ourselves for the coming summer," he said.

Chachra also felicitated some Army officers for their services.
