Norway named world's best place to be a mother

Norway has been named as the world's best place to be a mother in the Save the Children's 16th annual State of the World's Mothers report.

According to the Independent, researchers compiled the index of 179 countries by using data from UN agencies to show where mothers and children fare best and where they face the greatest hardships.

Finland has been ranked number two in the State of the World's Mothers report followed by Iceland on the third place and Denmark on the fourth.

The list showed the United Kingdom among the top 25 countries, ranked at 24th place.

The report also found that women in the UK face a one in 6,900 lifetime risk of maternal death.
