The massive Norwegian Dawn cruise ship, which ran aground in Bermuda while sailing back to Boston, has been refloated.

The vessel, carrying 2,443 passengers and about 1,059 crew, temporarily lost power as it left King's Wharf, Bermuda, reported Sky News.

A statement released by the Norwegian Cruise Line said the ship's propulsion was affected and the vessel had made contact with the channel bed. But it added that all guests and crew were safe.

The ship was refloated after high tide.

The cruise line spokesperson said the ship would remain anchored off Bermuda overnight. Experts will inspect the vessel before it heads back to Boston.
