Norwegian mass killer Anders Breivik called up his mother minutes before he killed 77 people in a shooting rampage.

Wenche Breivik, who died of cancer in March, gave her only interview about the Norway massacre to local writer Marit Christensen, who has now written a book about Anders.

According to the Daily Star, Breivik killed eight people with a bomb in Oslo in 2011 before shooting dead 69 victims at a political youth rally.

Christensen said Breivik called his mother and said that he was going down to a computer shop to buy something for his computer.

The journalist said that those were his last words to his mother before he started the rampage, adding that his mother was ever reconciled with what he did.

Breivik's mum was one of the few people who remained close to him and she refused to give evidence at his trial, the report added.
