Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that he is not in the race for the post of chief minister of Maharashtra, and added till now whatever was being reported in and by the media, is a reflection of what the state's MLAs want, and they had all rights to do so.

He said the BJP parliamentary board and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take the correct decision at the right time.

Meanwhile, the BJP's Maharashtra unit president Devendra Fadanvis continues to be a frontrunner for the post of chief minister. On Thursday, Fadnavis met Gadkari at his Nagpur residence and reportedly had discussions for about 30 minutes.

Fadnavis later told media that he had just come to wish Gadkari on the occasion of Diwali.

Both also visited the BJP office in Dhantoli around noon together, but refused to speak about their earlier meeting.
