After Salman Khan refused to be apologetic over his 'raped women' comment, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Wednesday said it is now seeking legal advice for further action against the Bollywood actor.
"We are seeking legal advice for further action against Salman Khan over his rape comment, as we are not satisfied with his reply. We hope to finalise our first draft on further action by tomorrow," NCW chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam told the media here.
Kumaramangalam firmly asserted that the commission, at this point, has no intention of taking things lightly.
"May be to a lot of people, including those who support him may think it is a light enough issue. But the fact is that it has had a lot of repulse already. This sort of behaviour seems to be increasingly condoned by saying that somebody is in the public eye," she added.
Further condemning Salman's remark, the NCW chief said it was a manifestation of a very deep patriarchal attitude.
"He is not the first person to talk about this lightly, but maybe he will be the last hopefully," she said.

Kumaramangalam earlier today expressed her disappointment over Salman sending his reply through his lawyer instead of tendering an apology.
"We have received Salman Khan's reply through his lawyers. He has not apologised. We are studying the reply," said the NCW chief.
The 50-year-old actor was ordered to appear before the Women's Commission in Mumbai today.
The drama began when Salman made the comments during an interview with entertainment website spotboye.com to promote his upcoming movie 'Sultan' that tells the story of an ageing wrestler trying to make a comeback.
"When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight," the 'Dabangg' actor said earlier on June 21.
However, Salman's father Salim Khan and brother Arbaaz Khan had earlier come out in his defence and said that the intention behind the 'rape' remark was not wrong.
Many women activists have also demanded an apology from the Bollywood star and saying that he should think before he speaks as the people look up to him for the so called good deeds he does on screen.
