Now, colour changing glassware to tell if drink's spiked with date-rape drug

ANI New York

A US based company has launched a colour changing glassware to detect if a drink has been laced with three common date-rape drugs.

For his endeavour, DrinkSavvy founder Mike Abramson collaborated with chemistry professor John MacDonald at Worcester Polytechnic institute in Massachusetts to create a line of 16-ounce cups and straws that change colours when they come in contact with common 'date rape' drugs such as ketamine, Rohypnol and GHB, the New York Daily News reported.

If the drink is safe to sip, the cup remains in its clear state, but if the drink has been laced, red stripes appear on the cup.
