A new social network aims to link "smart sex toys" online so that couples can control them remotely, it has been reported.

FriXion has been established with the goal of getting people interacting physically over the internet, News.com.au reported.

The company's website claims that the beta technology was exploring ways that intimacy could be improved online.

The basic premise of the network was to combine readily available sex toys with existing technologies, allowing users to connect so one toy could feel what the other toy was feeling.

Simple and low cost wristband accelerometer can be used, which uses the motions of people's arm or any toy to intuitively control a partner's device. Mouse, keyboard, and smartphone controls offer a no-barrier entry to remote interaction.

The company was even trialing technology to take biometrics such as heart rate and transforming that information into a soft sensation on people's device in real time.

It would not even be just for couples, with the website claiming users can also experience virtual solo interactions with haptic encoded media, games, and other content.
