Sources close to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden have reportedly said that if anything happens to the whistleblower, a massive trove of top secret data will be revealed to the world which could hurt the US intelligence.
According to New York Post, Snowden who is currently stuck up at Moscow's airport with a revoked passport and an indecisive Russian government is believed to have left his laptops containing all the data he gathered about the US led surveillance programme back in Hong Kong.
The report said that the confidential files containing the US spy programme data are held as an 'insurance policy' and may prove devastating to the US intelligence.
The journalist to whom Snowden leaked the documents, Glenn Greenwald said that Snowden has taken extreme precautions to ensure people around the world have the archives and no matter what they will be inevitably published adding that Snowden has told him if anything happens to him, he has arranged for them to get access to the full archive.
Snowden had earlier warned the US authorities that he can't be silenced as truth about their 'snooping programme' was going to be revealed and the US government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering him.
