NSG, NIA defuse 45 explosives in W.Bengal's Burdwan District

The National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday defused 45 explosives found in Burdwan on Thursday evening.

Large quantities of ammunition were recovered by the NSG and NIA from a house in Burdwan.

The team recovered 40 hand grenades and five socket bombs from the house belonging to one Rizwan Sheikh.

This recovery of explosives comes after two suspected militants were killed and another was injured in the explosion which occurred on October 2 at a house in Khagragarh of the same district.

Hafez Mollah alias Hasan and two women were arrested in connection with the blast. The involvement of terror outfits like LeT and HuJI is also being suspected.

 

Reportedly, 65 crude bombs have also been found in Kaliachak block in Malda. However, further details are awaited.
