President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday said that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NSME) are the backbone of our industrial development and economy.
President Mukherjee conveyed this to a group from Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir attending Operation Sadbhavana tour organized by 43 Rashtriya Rifles who called on him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
He said that he was happy that 43 Rashtriya Rifles had organized this tour as it would help make them aware of government schemes and programmes, credit facilities, market opportunities, etc. and help them earn their livelihood by becoming self-reliant.
Speaking on the occasion, President Mukherjee said that this experience would help them in their future life and leave a lasting impression on them of their belonging to the vast country, India.
He stated that this tour aims to spread awareness among them about various employment avenues available in the Small Scale Sector of the economy.
"It also aims to spread the message of love, peace and harmony amongst the youth," he added.
