The Nepal Students Union (NSU) activists on Monday staged a demonstration in front of Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli's official residence in Baluwatar and accused the government of protecting educational mafias and promoting black marketing.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as 'Proverb cannot ignite fire to cook' and 'People are finding it hard to live' among others, reports The Himalayan Times.
The NSU activists carried empty gas cylinders, jars and cooking utensils during their protest.
NSU Kathmandu president Manoj Vaidya warned of launching a nationwide agitation if the government did not heed to their demands.
NSU leader Deepak Bhattarai said that the government was not concerned towards controlling black marketing, inflation and activities of the education mafia.
Another student leader accused the government of failing to address the woes of earthquake survivors.
