The National Student's Union of India (NSUI) president Fairoz Khan on Monday stepped down from his post over the sexual harassment allegation leveled against him.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi has accepted Khan's resignation, sources said adding Khan is likely to take legal action in the matter.
Four months back, a woman office bearer of NSUI filed a complaint against Khan alleging that he sexually harassed her in a hotel room when they were in Bengaluru for an event.
Following the complaint, Khan came under the scanner as the All India Congress Committee formed a committee to look into the matter. The panel is yet to submit the final report.
