The number of Ebola cases has increased in the three worst hit countries of West Africa in the last week of January, said the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to BBC, the WHO said that there were 124 fresh cases of Ebola wherein Sierra Leone registered 80 cases, Guinea 39 and Liberia registered the remaining 5 cases.

Around 9,000 people have died from Ebola since December 2013.

The WHO said that eleven cases occurred due to unsafe burial in eastern Guinea on the border with d'Ivoire.

Relatives of people who died have caught the disease by touching the bodies of their loved ones.
