The number of Indians visiting the United States has increased by 6.5 per cent from 2016 to 2017, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Travel & Tourism Office (NTTO) released last week.
According to statistics provided by the NTTO, a total of 1,285,466 Indians travelled to the United States in 2017, up from 1,206,771 in the preceding year.
The organisation also stated that reports of a decline in visitors were incorrect, as the data was tabulated based on forecasted numbers that are outdated and inaccurate.
NTTO's data is based on the number of individuals who passed through U.S. ports of entry, including airports.
