A popular radio DJ from New Zealand sent a photo of his genitals to a Kiwi Paralympian and seems to have gotten away from the act without any disciplinary action.

'The Edge' morning host Dom Harvey sent the image to 2012's Paralympic gold medallist Sophie Pascoe through Snapchat that shows an image for specific time limit before disappearing, so the viewer cannot keep it.

Harvey said that the image picture was meant for his radio producer Sophie Hallwright and he apologised to Pascoe - who was in Canada, competing at the IPC Championship swimming meet.

Pascoe wrote about the incident on her Twitter account before winning gold in the 100m freestyle in world record time.

She posted that after finished eating her dinner she opened her Snapchat account to find an awkward surprise.

She told the New Zealand Herald that she did not want to talk about the image.

Harvey's apology contained questionable language, and referred to Pascoe's marketing with NZ beef and lamb.

He wrote, in his apology, that he was sorry about the Snapchat incident, asserting that he knew she liked beef and lamb but nobody deserves a surprise pork sausage.

Mediaworks, who I Harvey's employer, condemned the incident, but is not going to take any action against the host.

Programme director Leon Wratt said that it was a stupid thing to do and nobody would be feeling more stupider than Dom himself but he has apologised and no disciplinary action is being planned against him.
