Amid flak for his unwarranted remark against Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Alka Lamba, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator O.P. Sharma on Friday accused 'anarchist' Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of using all powers to recommend his expulsion from the Delhi Assembly.

Sharma said that his comments were misconstrued, adding that he had made the remarks in Lamba's praise.

"Anarchist Kejriwal is not even able to accept opposition from three BJP MLAs in the assembly. The people, who have fake degrees (Jitender Tomar) and involved in domestic violence case (Somnath Bharti) are sitting beside him. Kejriwal did not remove them from the assembly," Sharma told ANI.

"As far as I am concerned, he wrote a script five months ago and used Alka Lamba to thrash my shops. In another case of night shelter in which I was not even involved, he used Lamba to comment against me. To which in her support and praise, I said that Lamba visits the night shelter at 2:00 a.m. He used his ethics committee members to recommend my expulsion for a positive statement made by me for Alka Lamba," he added.

He also said that he had anticipated five months back that this kind of decision would be made.

"The people, who have cases of fake degrees and are doing corruption, are recommending my expulsion from the assembly. The Delhi Chief Minister should issue an apology for joining hands with traitors. Why should I issue an apology?"he asked.

The BJP MLA's reaction comes in the wake of Delhi Assembly's Ethics Committee recommending his expulsion from the house for using derogatory language against Lamba.

The 10-member Ethics Committee has in its report concluded that Sharma is a habitual offender of making un-parliamentary remarks especially against fellow women MLAs.

The Delhi Assembly witnessed clashes between the AAP and BJP legislators in November, 2015, after reports claimed that Sharma had called Lamba a 'baazaaru aurat' who roams around all night.

Sharma was even suspended from the assembly for a few days for his reported foul language against Lamba.

The controversial BJP MLA was last week caught on camera thrashing a CPI activist at the Patiala House Court premises when JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar was being taken inside the courtroom for hearing on a sedition case filed against him.

The Vishwas Nagar MLA was arrested yesterday but released on bail.
